Absolute end-ofreel detector for PS labelling

With the APS 3 pressure-sensitive labelling station, Krones has created a high-performance label applicator for PS labelling, combining high speed and
accurate label positioning with simple operator control and easy change-over procedures. As an optional extra, this APS 3 can be fitted with an absolute end-of-reel detector. Only when the actual end of the label reel has been reached will the APS 3 label applicator halt, and switch over to autochange mode, or initiate automatic splicing. When conventional technology is used, up to 30 labels will remain on each roll core, since due to different tolerances for the cardboard cores on which the label web is wound end-of-reel detection is inherently inaccurate. These losses are prevented when an absolute end-of-reel detector is installed.
