Milk

Palletising technology in many variants

Since the end of 2004, Latte di Brescia, the dairy centre of the city of Brescia, has been filling milk with extended shelf life (90 days) in 1-l and 0.5-l PET containers. Besides the compact PET-Asept line and the plastic bottle production process with a Contiform S, a flexible Robogrip palletiser with a fork-type gripper head and a pallet gripper unit that has a grip on the palletising area are operated in the production hall. Carton trays with mascarpone are processed in rows at a speed of up to 50 l/h.
Robogrip – a flexible arm robot with four or six axes with 360° swivelling range allows for free positioning of containers, packs, or entire layers within one working area and provides maximum flexibility.
A major Swiss food company relies on Robot technology for palletising 2x2, 3x2, 4x2, 4x3 shrinkpacks and 6x3, 6x4 trays (with and without film). A Robot 3A-R with shutter head processes the packs at a speed of 320 cycles/h (also half pallets).
The Robot series, with its single-column principle, allows for flexible processes. The selection of the correct gripper head is essential for a reliable transport of the packs. The robot product range comprises concepts with two to six moving axes with an output of up to 550 cycles/h and a loading capacity of up to 700 kg. The dairy company Somboled in Sombor and Gropper Dairy in Bissingen, however, are using the double-axis concept of the Pressant series for palletising. The Pressant Compact 1N with height-adjustable loading station economically palletises the packs with ESL milk, yogurt and mixed milk products at a speed of aup to 150 l/h, at Gropper with 5x2, 4x3 trays, and up to 122 l/h at Somboled, (3x2, 4x3 shrinkpads).
One fresh addition to Krones’ product portfolio is the Modulpal single-column palletiser, which supersedes a majority of the Pressant and Robot ranges. The Modulpal family utilises robot technology and is equipped with servo-drive systems in all functional areas. Thanks to its flexibly selectable gripper systems, this new series of palletiser meets all the requirements involved for versatility in coping with new-style jobs. Depending on the version concerned, the output is up to 600 layers an hour.
