Packaging line for beverages with the dry end monobloc concept

Monobloc synchronisation of machines in the Ergobloc D (for “Dry”), combines field-proven machines to form a packaging line for beverages with end-of-the-line packaging and palletising. The Ergobloc D comprises the following series-connected components: Variopac Pro packer with shrink tunnel attached, a short pack conveyor, followed by a Robobox pack grouping station with a Modulpal 1 ADR palletiser including layer pad handling.

Advantages of the monobloc concept in the dry end:

  • space savings
  • short routes
  • harmonised control and drive concepts

The building blocks of the Ergobloc D for beverage packaging

  • the Variopac Pro packer
This machine, also suitable for handling square bottles and lightweight containers, can be flexibly adjusted to handle different pack sizes and film thicknesses. The packs can be transported through the shrink tunnel in one, two or three lanes.
Depending on the output of the Variopac Pro, the downstream pack conveyor is constructed in one or two lanes on a modularised principle, so as to enable the shrink tunnel to be emptied.
  • Robobox pack grouping station
The Robobox grouping station is preprogammed to create the layer patterns individually required for each pallet before the layer is actually transferred to the palletiser. Positive turning ensures dependable operation even with flexible packages.
  • Modulpal palletiser with innovative layer pad inserter system
The Modulpal 1 ADR single-column robot with low-level pack infeed is able to handle up to 500 layers an hour, with a carrying capacity of two times 700 kilograms. A system that places the layer pads underneath the Modulpal’s shutter-type gripper head enables layer pads to be inserted without any loss of speed.
