A labeller for PET bottles – a job for specialists

The Darguner Brewery attaches particular importance to having a perfect labeller: PET bottles are the major type of container in the range handled by this brewery in Mecklenburg, both for beer and for soft drinks. When a new PET-Asept L line from Krones was installed, several different labellers were incorporated for dressing the attractive PET bottles.
The Darguner Brewery dresses the PET bottles using either a Contiroll for wrap-around labelling or a Sleevematic M with a linked Shrinkmat steam tunnel for full-sleeve labelling. This machine, installed as a prototype, permits high sleeving speeds of up to 27,000 containers an hour with just a single station, but still has a minimised footprint, and, thanks to its modularised construction, low investment costs as well.
 
The labeller from the Contiroll family operates on the rotary principle. The PET bottles are mostly dressed in reel-fed film labels. The type of glue is selected to suit the label material involved.
For dressing the PET bottles in full-length sleeves, the Sleevematic M labeller is used. This is a compactly dimensioned inline machine designed for use with shrink-fit sleeves. The Shrinkmat steam tunnel, with its integrated vapour extraction feature, matches the sleeves snugly to the contour of the PET bottles.
