Multifarious dress options with Autocol
Since they have excellent wet strength (vital in the pharmaceutical and body & healthcare sectors) and don’t need any label-dependent handling parts, pressure-sensitive labels are becoming an increasingly popular choice. The use of glue is entirely eliminated, with a concomitant reduction in cleaning work. Pressure-sensitive labels are hard-wearing, water-resistant, non-slip and permit dress options to gladden the hearts of marketing experts. The rotary design of Krones’ Autocol labeller also means that (in contrast to the typical labeller models used in the pharmaceutical industry) non-cylindrical or rotationally symmetrical containers can be labelled as well.
Besides the usual pressure-sensitive labels, the Autocol is also able to handle transparent labels in the “no-label look”, wet-strength plastic labels or multi-layered labels. The machine can dress the containers in a multitude of specialised pharmaceutical labels. Plus an option for using the Autocol to apply what is called an outsert, a folded package circular. This means the cardboard box can be dispensed with – a new trend for saving on packaging costs.
The Autocol ensures high labelling accuracy and a precise label placement even for very small labels. Particularly with regard to OTC products, this criterion is increasingly important. Only perfect packaging promises high product quality. Fast changeover to different containers and labels without tools guarantee a high utilisation rate.
The pharmaceutical labelling system Autocol meets the FDA, GMP and GAMP3 requirements. The machine is already operating successfully in different pharmaceutical, cosmetic and chemical applications, as well as in the body and healthcare sector.
