Sleeve labels for four different products in one machine
Sleeves are a highly appealing dressing variant. They fully enclose the containers and offer a lot of space for advertising messages and product information. Stretch sleeves of stretchable film or shrink sleeves that are shrunk to the container shape under steam or hot air can be used. The flexible films compensate the stretching of PET containers after filling, and they fit tightly even after opening the containers. Shrink sleeves are also suitable for non-returnable containers with conical or square bases. And not last, they can be used as tamper-evident seals in the neck area.
With a Sleevematic Inline, it is possible to apply four different labels onto four different product containers, all in a single machine. The four-colour filler at Gropper dairy, Bissingen, fills four different products in PET bottles. The Sleevematic Inline dresses the bottles in the appropriately assigned sleeves in the correct sequence.
After filling, the containers are marked with an invisible UV code. The Sleevematic Inline features four cutting units installed in series, one for each product. A Checkmat equipped with a camera and the DART system uses the UV coding to check which labelling station must be activated. The correct full-body sleeve can now be applied. The Sleevematic Inline is rated at 18,700 containers an hour.
Once the sleeve has been transferred to the container, the shrink sleeve is shrink-fitted in a steam tunnel. Quick-release fastenings are used to adjust the steam nozzles to the different bottle shapes so that a very swift overall change-over routine to different containers of less than 15 minutes is achieved for the Sleevematic Inline.
