Is everything there on the label? Checkmat checks it

A perfect label position and correct date-stamping are essential for the quality of product packing. For label inspection with a Checkmat 731, a CCD camera checks the exact position of the labels on the container. The system also recognises whether the correct label – the one that matches the product - has been applied. Moreover, it can read numbers and characters in plaintext and therefore check if date-stamping is correct and complete. Barcodes are detected and checked no matter at which angle they are printed. Presence, position and the barcode of metallised and highly reflecting labels can be checked with the aid of special illumination.
The CCD camera system provides a variety of image processing and code detection options (e.g., EAN, UPC). The labels are recognised by means of pattern comparison on a large area and checked for position and quality. The fault tolerance can be adjusted. The OCR (Optical Character Recognition) label inspection unit is able to recognise plaintext and characters (e. g. best-before date) and check whether they are correct. The OCV (Optical Character Verification) quality monitoring function checks the presence of the date and the lettering quality, and compares characters. The camera system´s  image analysis unit is connected via TCP/IP with the basic Checkmat unit. Photoelectric sensors can be utilised if only the presence of the label is to be checked.
