Clean apple-juice crates with a Linajet pack washer

The juice bottlers Mosterei Möhl, one of the leaders on Switzerland’s apple-juice beverage market, have opted for Krones’ technology. When a new PET line was integrated, the dry end was also equipped with machines from Krones.
Besides using two packers for non-returnables, a Variopac Pro and a Wrapapac, individual bottles can be packed by a Smartpac in returnable crates, which serve as return packs for the one-way/two-way PET containers from the catering trade and the beverage supermarkets. Möhl uses a PET-Eject unit to extract the bottles from the returned crates of empties. The crates are washed by a Linajet pack washer featuring a jetting system.
The packs are cleaned from all sides by jetting units. Depending on the particular Linajet model involved, the treatment can involve water in a single cleaning step or a two-stage system featuring a cleaning solution followed by post-jetting with water.
Mosterei Möhl attaches major importance to ensuring its crates are ultra-clean, and has accordingly opted for a two-stage cleaning concept. The integrated heating system enables the crates to first be pre-rinsed with warm cleaning solution, after which they are cleaned with clear water in the second treatment zone, before finally being sprayed with fresh water. Hygiene during operation with returnable concepts is thus assured throughout the process, and the top-quality apple-juice products are in visually impeccable condition when they reach the retailers and the catering trade. Crate handling also provides an option for the firm to take back all PET bottles in the future if the relevant legislation is changed.
