Coordination of operations, orders, movements – the IT solution for intralogistics

Depending on the control task and the warehouse conception, different IT modules are integrated in the logistical solution:

• Control software:
  The warehouse management software manages the inventory based on the shipping unit number and archives according to EU standard 178/2002 which provides for safe batch tracking.
• Order management:
  The function blocks for collection, export and delivery, picking and transport orders are used for creating or working off the required orders.
  The orders are exchanged with the "office world" through the interface with the superior ERP system (Enterprise Resource Planning). Statistical and analytical modules are used to track stock movements and define logistics codes.
• Forklift truck movement:
   The forklift truck control system transmits the order data from the warehouse management computer (system) to the forklifts by means of WLAN (Wireless LAN), scanners installed on the forklifts and forklift terminals. Storage area positions for storage and retrieval, identification elements for almost fully automatic conveyor starts and stops allow for consistent pallet movement monitoring.
• Lorry coordination:
   A yard management system with display panels for the lorries and loading berth control as well as a control programme for pick-up and delivery traffic provides for optimal use of the platform capacity.
• Quality assurance:
  The pallet identification and the EAN 128 label scanning process performed automatically by the forklift allow for triggering and managing quarantine measures.
