Comprehensive brewhouse upgrade

The Badische Staatsbrauerei Rothaus, Grafenhausen, Germany, is relying on Krones technology when it comes to mashing, wort cooling, organic wort acidification, CIP and control systems. With its newly constructed brewhouse, the brewery is adapting the brewing process and the brewery equipment to the drastically increased output figures of the past years. The brewery concept, originally designed for 350,000 hl, is being expanded to reach the new capacity of more than 900,000 hl with a newly installed mashing tun, a Pegasus lauter tun, a Stromboli wort boiler and a whirlpool.
A Botec system that has controlled the plant up to now integrates the new process technology in the entire sequence of operations throughout all process areas.
A tight schedule over eighteen months from award of the contract to the first brew prove how closely the individual construction phases were intermeshed, this enabling Rothaus to benefit swiftly from the advantages of the new, efficient process.
