Producing juices – a case for the syrup room
In future, Masafi Mineralwater Co., Dubai, will be producing a broad range of products in the new Krones syrup room: 100 % orange juice with pulps, mango nectar with a 30 – 40 % portion of fruit juice, fruit nectar with a guava or blood orange flavour, and clear apple juice with 100 % juice content. With a capacity of 10.000 l/h, after heating up to 95 °C, these products are filled hot at 85 °C using a Krones Sensometic VP-GL filler. Besides the manually fed sugar dissolving station for crystal sugar, the order volume includes two mixing tanks of 20,000 l each for blending of final beverages according to their specific ingredients. Thanks to the two tanks-concept, one tank can be used for production while cleaning takes place in the other. A powder dissolver is integrated for dosing citric acid or other substances like dyestuff or preservatives. In the four consecutive heat exchanger zones of the tubular heat exchanger, the product is heated up to maintain a temperature of max. 95 °C and then, after maintaining the temperature for a time, forwarded to the filler via a bypass construction. The product flowing back from the filler is then cooled to approx. 35 °C and returned to the feeding vessel. An associated non-aseptic homogeniser and a CIP system complete the plant, which started operation in April 2006.
