Innovation through investment

Our customers are the paramount focus of our product strategy. Many new ideas evolve from the close contacts between our service and sales staff and our customers’ people on site. The research and development departments at Krones take those ideas and develop the corresponding products, always with an eye toward reducing customers’ total cost of ownership.

To secure and expand our technological edge, we have for years invested around 5% of sales revenues in research and development (R&D) – a large share compared with our industry peers. Around 350 people within the Krones Group employ state-of-the-art technologies and methods to strategically advance new concepts for products and systems in a highly efficient product development process. In addition, some 1,350 employees work to continually improve the products and services that Krones offers.

Innovative machines and lines alone are no longer enough to enhance beverage plant efficiency. The key now lies in integrating process engineering, filling and packaging, and internal logistics into a complete system.
